What Jimmy said! Please.

Happy New Year! Please don't get rid of anonymous commenting because then the usual suspects would only have jaywalking at the Roosevelt stop to complain about! BORING!

......

Please get rid of anon postings so we dont have to endure posts like the brilliant one "yolo solo" posted at 9:51 a.m.

Brendan. Post a pic of yourself so we can see what middle age regret and sadness looks like.

ANON @ 1047

dont be mad at me because youre not fit to be accepted on an internet blog.

I feel bad for you.

New Year, same old b.s. from anon posters with internet muscles

Most people are anonymous on this with the exception of people who actually post their real names. Kudos to you Paul Botts. Aon or not these are just screen names. Enough of the argument that screen names hold people accountable. If it is not your real name their is no accountability. Dudes like Brendan are attention whores and love this attention. Posting comments that aon posts are irrelevant are just as irrelevant.
I love this website for the valuable information and also love the ridiculous comments on the blog. So Brendan, post your full name and shut up pathetic aons like myself. Oh and fit guy, great contribution to your last post from a guy that calls himself fit guy. God love you and the affliction t shirt and overpriced jeans you probably have on right now.

Also, it apears that Brendan replies back to posts within an hour when he is mentioned. That is adorable :)

anon @ 2:04 = internet muscles. I doubt you would say that kind of jazz to my face. I am assuming you are wearing a tucked in plaid shirt from kohls in your moms basement looking at naked pics on the internet. Calling people out on the internet is about as gutless a move as there is....

Some of us actually enjoy this neighborhood so please keep your moronic comments to yourself, kid. And FYI I am a trainer at FFC on state where I have worked with alot of the sloopin regulars--- FitGuy was a nicknameI was given by those people, thats why I use it so I can be recognized. Trolls like yourself would understand that. Why dont you do us all a favor and disappear

BRENDAN said...

My name is Brendan Yorke, sorry for the confusion.

I will try and include my full name next time so you dont have anymore excuses to blog the incessant drivle you call information in the comment section. FYI---I do not crave attention I just cannot stand stupidity especially on a privately run neighborhood blog that is to be used for local info. Instead most the time I log on I read comments from dummys like you arguing about bike lanes and the neighborhood needing more nightclubs.

I'm pretty sure a good 90% of the anon posters are under the age of 15 so I wouldnt get too riled up over this kind of behavior

I'm so glad Brendan Yorke is here to tell us all what is important. He doesn't like bike lanes or night clubs, so neither should we, apparently. I'm just sick of everyone on this blog - anon and otherwise - thinking their opinion is the only one that matters and trying to stifle any discussions or differing opinions with name calling and complaints about anon commenters. Yawn. I seriously hope you don't get rid of anon comments just because these people cry the loudest.

Maybe some better comment moderation is in order, while keeping the anonymous commenting option. Come on Sloopy, you know a garbage/troll comment when you see one.

Who even reads the anon comments anymore? What I would LOVE see done is get a good block option so we could filter out the nonsense from most anon posters

as a long time reader on this blog I would have to say that most if not all of the anon posters/trolls are nothing short of a nuisance.

The most incredible thing about all of this is that the rebut most of these idiot trolls have is that they "get a kick" out of all the crazy comments and that "it keeps them coming back for more". Spoken like true imbeciles--- I back Paul, Emily, brendan, and anyone else that wants these idiots blocked out form this otherwise pleasant website.

Happy new year sloopin. This blog has evolved into a great source of information but also a great cultural study of the people who live here. I love the aon comments because they allow us to hear opinions about topics that we are passionate about. This blog is for information but also entertainment. I am not a troll for one. I live in the area and actually work out at FFC on state. I also try to contribute to the blog when I hear of inside information etc. It is nice to know the fit guy is a trainer there. I was actually considering getting a trainer. Fit Guy are you the one withe ironic moustache?

I don't care who the Anons are in real life. The goal is having some continuity and the ability to filter out consistent trolls. By having a registered user name, it's easy to distinguish who adds to the blog and who doesn't. With Anons it's impossible...although 90% of their posts are complete garbage.

Agree or disagree with content, the only posts I respect are those with registered user names.

BRENDAN said...

anon posts are hot garbage, always have been. Take for instance Anon 2:04---- probably a drunk drop-out or a columbia college kid on the 8-year plan with LOTS of free time to troll. Sloopy needs to try and control these posts on a regular basis.....

I love all comments. Many of the screen name users comment on this thread have responded numerous times to troll comments. I think that is weird. I am convinced many of the commenters don't even live in the sloop. Insert cough (Brendan). This thread shows the power of sloopin. Blogs should be passionate. Not everybody is a troll. I think trolls are people who used to live in the sloop and feel the need to keep commenting. Insert cough

BRENDAN said...

It really is flattering how many of these gutless anons are curious of me!! Whats your last name, where do you live, blah blah blah

Once again, Brendan Yorke and I live off of Indiana and Roosevelt.

Please sloopy -- look at these comments, we need these anons filtered out of comment section.

Worthless anons

This back and forth on comments must be fantastic for sloopin web hits. Since web hits attract advertisers I say bravo. Brendan checks his own posts enough that soon enough major companies will buy as space on sloopin. I know that every blog poster who rips aons can't wait to eagerly check the thread as soon as possible. The attention of the screen name being mentioned must be invigorating. Brendan you obviously do well for yourself if you live off Roosevelt and Indiana which is an amazing part of the sloop or your a renter that wants to own here and are bitter. Either way I applause you and others for helping sloopin grow with your constant visits.
