Marquee Adds Rental Options; 1555 S. Wabash Closings to Start Soon?

YoChicago has two recent posts looking at two of the newer developments in the South Loop.

The first is a post about Marquee (1464 S. Michigan Ave. - pictured to the right) rolling out rental options for some of the remaining units that haven't sold yet. We've heard about similar approaches in the neighborhood given the difficult real estate market.

Also of interest is that 1555 S. Wabash looks to be finally closing on some of their units:
The building has obtained certificates of occupancy for its first three residential floors and should be ready to "rock and roll" (which I interpret as "start closing units") around the first week of May.

I wonder if the renters are going to be stuck paying the assessment fees because that would: (1) suck and (2) make that building one of the most expensive in the neighborhood.

Our guess is that the assessments will already be baked into the monthly rent.

Shotty building materials, questionable craftsmanship, and an absolutely irresponsive staff! Stay away from this building, or anything that has New West Realty/New West Construction’s name on it! I recently bought in this building, and have nothing but regrets. I am considering forfeiting the first time home buyer tax credit and putting this thing back on the market. The so called “property manager” Christina, shows blatant disregard to the concerns of the residents…that is until she sells you on the unit.
I recently heard that 1555 Wabash was going to be on the Do it Yourself Network. Hmmm…makes sense considering that you have to do everything yourself if you want a habitable living space.

I'm not really a stickler for spelling/syntax but when an Anon leads off a post with a boner like "shotty" it really blows any credibility.
