Dentist Opening at 1440 S. Wabash (NW Corner of 14th and Wabash)

A reader writes:
A dentist is going to be setting up shop in the heretofore vacant retail space in 1440 S Wabash (corner of 14th place and wabash, NW corner). I toured a condo in that building this afternoon and the real estate broker shared that little tidbit. She estimated that the new retail space would be completed in 7 to 9 months.

Not that I think we need another dentist in the South loop, but that is just what I heard and thought I would pass it along.

On another retail development front, the old Washington Mutual bank building at the Northwest corner of 16th and Michigan is in build-out mode as well. While we haven't heard much about this, it sure looks like a doctor's office (or something similar).

16/Michigan is a vet. We are loaded with dentists, salons and storage here in the sloop it seems.

Do you even try ?? 16th/Michigan will be a vet. There is a huge sign on the wall you can see from the street. does anyone who writes for this blog actually live here?

Lighten up, Anonymous 8:18 am. Sloopin tells me more about our neighborhood than any other resource. I'm grateful for it.

Someone posted back in October that wamu would become a vet

Another dentist would be good...whatever you do, don't go to the Art of Modern Denistry on S. Michigan....unbelievable rip-off place. Any new dentist would be a big improvement vs that place.

Although I am happy to see an empty space be filled I don't really understand why someone thinks it is a good idea to put a vet at 16th and Michigan when South Loop Animal Hospital is at 1640 S Michigan.

I can also comment on Art of Modern Dentistry on S. Michigan being a scam -- they told me I needed a lot of work when two other dentists said I needed no serious work at all. Just trying to warn the people to be careful.

Similar problem for me and similar warning about the Art of Modern Dentistry.

I had the feeling that they are having problems making ends meet and were trying to get as much money from me as they could even though the work was not needed.

Chicago is a big city. A growing populace needs more dentist clinic opening like this because more are looking for dental services like in my place, dental implants nyc.

Metropolitan Veterinary Center is the best vet I have ever dealt with. I personally know several dog owners who ditched South Loop for Metro Vet. There are lots of pets in our neighborhood. Why wouldn't there be more than one vet clinic?
