Congrats to Overflow Coffee on their One Year Anniversary

We recently read about Overflow Coffee's one year anniversary and wanted to give them a shout out from the folks at Sloopin. We've been many times and truly enjoy what they're doing. Best of luck in the future and see you soon!

They're mission is cool. But I really go because the coffee is the best in the Sloop

Congrats to them. On a side note I noticed that the new cafe next to pita heaven has their tape down and a new awning. I asked and they should be open in a few weeks. They are going to be doing coffee deserts and crepes. I really like overflow and getting a coffee at a non chain. I hope this new place is solid too. That Steven guy. Notice I post as a anonymous and am contributing something. I dont need credit for anything or attention I hesitate to mention your name because you are obviously a grown man that seeks attention so badly you seek out blogs. Kudos to you since you are really good at it and get lots of attention. Post a pic of your face so we can all continue to give you attention and notice you in the real world.

Thanks Sloopin. We love the South Loop and the support we've received this past year. We're looking forward to many more years and continued growth.

Congrats to Overflow. They have tried to make the place a much more inviting place to be (not quite there yet in my opinion - still need to somehow add a communal table, lighting and get softer lighting in the hallways), but the coffee really is good and a great place to spend the day if you are working from home or have a meeting.

Way to go anon...nice job hijacking this post to express your idiocy

you contributed nothing.....everyone has known about that place for weeks now. Go back to bed...

what did stephen contribute? besides his name?

Great place, love what they do for the community!

Steven: please understand you are just as anonymous as any of the anons on this blog. Plenty of us who are too lazy to sign up and use a random screen name contribute a lot to this blog, and a handful of the "non-anonymous" guys keep posting aggressive and negative comments.

Overflow is great by the way, great place to grab some coffee and work for a couple of hours. However, the place could still need some more cozy furniture in my opinion. Is there any possibility of outdoor seating?

i'm pretty sure he is refering to the dumba$$ comments most anons type here.

The reason people like those who take time to type their names in is because now you are accountable for your comments... when youre "anon" then you pretty much can just spout idiocy without having to deal with the backlash of some of the more "sensitive" people on this blog.

thats where the term "gutless anon" comes from.

okay "josh"

and tell me, how are you accountable for your comments just because you type in "josh" as your identity?

because next time I post under my name I will be held accountable and carry the reputation of my previous comments.

Its called not being a coward...

Re: seating, ambiance, etc.
We definitely have plans to improve these things in the coming year. We recently put out a new short video highlighting some of what's happened this past year and what's being planned for the year ahead. You can view it at http://vimeo.com/39722555.

Re: outdoor seating
This isn't going to be happening this year because we heard there's going to be some more work on State Street again. We thought it wouldn't be worth our money just yet when there's dust in the area and noise from the work.

In short, we're listening and working to make Overflow continually become more of what the neighborhood wants. We're here for you.

Thanks for the update Neely!

On a different note, we don't need to have the debate on "anon" comments versus "named" comments.

very cool video. On another note. I noticed that another consignment shop is open at around 18th and Wabash. I believed it is called Lofty Aspirations. Haven't got a chance to go in there yet but the place looks open and their stuff looks pretty interesting from the window. Sorry I listed my name as anon as I am too lazy to add a screen name. I would say check out a new business though...

ok place but please find a way to add more furniture for larger parties...great people though!
