According to various sources, the Chicago Code, Fox's cop drama based in Chicago, has not been renewed for a second season. Although the show wasn't very good and had a ton of cheesy one-liners that made you cringe, it was fun watching different areas of the city come to life on the small screen.
There were a ton of different scenes within the show that were shot in the South Loop and it was always fun to see camera crews in the neighborhood. However, it appears that new shows and movies continue to come to the South Loop to shoot, so you will probably still see them around (as evidenced by a post we did last week talking about an MTV pilot being shot down here).

Noo!! I actually really enjoyed the show.
It was also fun to see different parts of the city, then laugh when they'd name it somewhere else (Miller's Pub in Lincoln Park? Hah! Blue Frog on Jackson? No!)
I hope they get the chance to close everything up, at the very least.
Wow! I really liked the show also! Honestly it was probably my favorite show on TV. Maybe I have a biased perspective but it seemed very good.
This show did not represent Chicago very well. When there was a murder in Miller's Pub and they claimed it was on N.Clark next to where the St. Valentines day massacre happened. That is a 4 or 5 mile difference. I also hate how in almost every scene there are "L" tracks. Do they just film in one location? But it was nice to see the city on TV, even though it was horrible.
I liked the show, especially after a few episodes. Maybe if enough of us clamor it'll get picked up on cable kind of like Friday Night Lights did.
Chicago Code was like the jersey shore of police dramas - a mind-numbing, plotless show full of no talent hacks over-exaggerating stereotypes to create the illusion of substance.
I will miss pointing out all of the geographical innacuracies, mocking the accents, and screaming "I can see my house from here" while my friends are trying to watch the show.
Seriously though, I wanted it to be good and watched every episode hoping it would get there. I think its sad that Chicago's latest attempt at a prime time drama was so poorly executed. It had potential.
Worst show ever. It was like the SNL Superfans met Law & Order. Surprised the cops weren't eating Polish Sausages every time they were on camera.
Put me also in the category of people who liked it. I cringed the first couple of episodes but it kept getting stronger.
I liked the show, but mostly enjoyed seeing the Chicago locations. And re: the stories, it has NOTHING to do with how Chicago actually operates. The Irish mob? The police department investigating City Hall corruption? .... And they continually called police "coppers" ... like it was a Cagney movie. Just odd.
