Memorial Day is...There seems to be some confusion. Memorial Day is not a day to "honor the troops." It's a day to memorialize the fallen, to visit and decorate their graves. This is not something that's usually preceded by the word <i>happy.</i><br /><br />The originator of Memorial Day, Gen. John Logan, is commemorated by a Saint-Gaudens statue in the South Loop, at 9th & Michigan.
