It's Official: Dominick's South Loop is Now Jewel South Loop

 

 As of yesterday, the Dominick's at 1340 S. Canal is now a Jewel.  While we're curious to see what changes (our guess - probably not much), one interesting thing appeared in an article we read on ABC7 about this conversion:

"The customers at Dominick's have been telling us for a long time that they would like a brighter store. Jewel has brighter stores, Jewel came in here re-lit the entire store and made it brighter, made it clean, fresh," said Chimera. "This store was the flagship store of Dominick's, and I am hoping to make it the flagship store of Jewel."

Interesting, we weren't aware that this location was a "flagship" store.  Maybe that would explain why they decided to get out of the biz.

Has anyone been?  Notice anything different?
