Shots Around the Sloop: I Wish

A reader writes:
I see how you roll.

All I can say to that is I wish.

Judging by the license plate holder we're guessing that it is owned by a proud Ohio State Alum.  For those who aren't really into sports, the song "Hang on Sloopy" has become a signature of the Ohio State Football band.  It's also is the official rock song of the state of Ohio:

  1. One of my friends knows how devoted I am to this blog, and one day saw this car. I was convinced it was you and routinely look for it around the Sloop since she had seen it on Michigan and 18th. At least we all know the truth now.

  3. Several clients and friends of mine shared this with me tonight and I am here to share with you that this is my car and plate. Many people have asked what SLOOPY stands for and some think it is because I am a Real Estate Broker focusing on the South Loop; others who know that I am an avid sailor think it is a reference to sailing; but alas it is that I am an Ohio State Buckeye and love where I came from, which is where I learned that hard work and character enables success. And to let you know why you see me all over the area is because I live/own near 18th and S Prairie and have been here for almost 7 years. My name is Michael P. Murphy and work for Prudential Rubloff. So keep your chin up in these tough times; as we say or rather sing in Ohio: "Hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on: O-H-I-O!!!!!

  6. Jealousy gets you nowhere dude. It is nice to be 7-0 and ruin everyone else's season. People make mistakes in life and I am sure you have made some. Those individuals do not represent all of the amazing grads from THE Ohio State University. Sometimes mistakes and being fired are the best lessons we have in life. We learn from them and hope to be better from them and move on.

The many that are Nobel Prize Winners, Congressman, small business owners making a difference are the ones I emulate. Do not be a hater, it's not a good look.

  7. YADA YADA YADA... the fact is that THE ohio state university has been and always will be a football factory that harbors criminals from the top down... Dress it up anyway you want to, its still a pig. LOL

Morally speaking, Penn State and OSU and two schools that are in desparate need of an overhaul, yikes. Ta Ta

  11. sounds like a bunch of angry, jealous children on here to me. i said that i learned those morals from the lovely state of ohio, not the university, though im sure had you all tried to enroll at THE OSU you would have been denied, not because of anything but pure academics. have a great day being haters. its more fun being positive and a less negative.
