Pita Heaven Opens First and So Far So Good...

Not surprising that the poll reflects the first business to open (since it opened and you were still allowed to vote). But regardless, Pita Heaven opened first.

So far we've heard mostly positive feedback and Yelp reviews seem to confirm that (at least for now). A reader recently snapped a shot and sent us the following email:

Pita Heaven is open, I ate there yesterday. I had the pastichio and the oven potatoes, very good.

Good luck to them and looking forward to officially trying me some Pita Heaven.

And also looking forward to the other businesses (and some other new ones) opening soon as well!

  2. I had the chicken pita and it was good. Servers were also quite attentive. I’ll definitely try more items from their menu. Space Atmosphere/décor was great too. Casual-Upscale. It seems like all the new SL eating places is following this trend (Waffles, Scout, Tribute, and if their logo is any indication, Burger Pointe). In the north side, a simple pita place would look like a subway/Mr. Submarine. Thank goodness Pita Heaven has some style.

  5. First timer at Pita Heaven, loved it. Chicken Kebob was good, service was good, atmosphere, etc. Solid addition to the 'hood.

  6. overall - the food is good but definitely has potential for improvement.
    some suggestions:
Chicken Kebobs (skewers) would have been better with Tzatziki sauce instead of Honey Mustard, and no Lamb gyros?? Why? :(
That said, welcome to the neighborhood Pita Heaven - glad you finally opened - best wishes for a long and thriving business

  9. I also have been super impressed and have been their three separate times. This place has restored my faith in new restaurants in our area. I look back at places like Donna's and continue to cringe how awful it is. I hope places like Pita Heaven will do well so more businesses follow. The fact that a place like Donna's is even still open makes me wonder how the city gives out grants and tax breaks to certain businesses.

  10. Love the place, but two complaints.

First, the Pass is in the same location as the cash register lines. This was a mess last night when it was crowded as servers would attempt to fight through the people to deliver food. Horrible design that needs to change ASAP. 90% of all traffic in the restaurant goes through a one square foot area.

Secondly, the owner/cashier had a pack of smokes sitting right out in plain view on the cash register. I'm a smoker myself so I don't mind as much, however this looks really bad. Just throw 'em behind the counter, out of view.

And once again the food was delicious. Great place.

  11. Pita Heaven advice - go for the chicken kabobs vs beef. Also, the Pastichio and regular gyros are very good.
