In case you haven't been by the proposed site of Roosevelt Universities "Vertical Campus", it looks like they're making some progress according to a blog called Chicago Architecture Plus:
It also touches on some of the architectural artifacts that are being discovered as the building is being built. An interesting read for people that are into these types of things.

How in the world is this a "south loop story"? I know very few people that consider anything North of Roosevelt to be the south loop. Now, this building is North of Congress! No way is this the south loop.
ReplyDeleteSince Roosevelt U Students live in the south loop it could be a south loop relevant story. Also, many more than a few people consider Congress to Roosevelt as part of the south loop. Especially, since as a south loop resident my daily walks and bike routes lead me regularly to the areas most proximate to the south loop --like right by this development.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amused at the posters here who consider themselves to be the arbiters of what is the South Loop. If you're not interested in a story, ignore it. For the record, since the "Loop" is defined by the elevated tracks that run in a loop downtown, historically anything south of Van Buren would then be south of the Loop.
