Sloopin's Definition

noun:

  1. An area bounded by Congress on the north, Lake Michigan on the east, 55 on the south and 90/94 on the west: I’m going down to the sloop for dinner tonight.

verb:

  1. To do some activity in the south loop or in the near south side area: Tuesday is going to be sick, I’m sloopin with Obama all night!

  1. "solo" is short for south loop.

  2. solo is lame. it doesn't remove any syllables to make "south loop" shorter. Sloop is the best i've heard and fits the character much better. Plus it reminds me of the south loop club, one of the best bars in town.

  3. Don't like sloop, the word portrays sloppy, unpleasant. SoLo is better like Soho, south of the loop, south of houston. Anyway do we need an abbreviation?
